Ours began one evening when a friend desperately searched for a pair of Christmas-patterned socks for his daughter. Hours passed, yet he couldn’t find them. Around the same time, İlker was struggling to locate the perfect bow tie for his wedding shoot.
These small frustrations sparked a big idea:
What if people could instantly search for products available around them?
That’s how Civar.com was born — a platform designed to help people discover nearby products and real-time availability.
From day one, we knew the challenge would be immense. Collecting location-based product and availability data is one of the hardest problems in e-commerce. That’s why we invested heavily in building a world-class search engine. Written in Go, our infrastructure was designed to be fast, scalable, and no-code friendly. We launched our MVP powered by this engine, and the results were promising.
But turning a B2C idea into a commercial success required significant resources. Explaining the value to everyday consumers proved costly, and in our hometown of Antalya, access to investors wasn’t easy. We couldn’t raise the necessary capital to scale the consumer product.
Yet, out of that challenge came an opportunity.
What remained was not just an idea — but an incredibly powerful crawling infrastructure. And we realized this technology could solve a much bigger pain: enabling companies worldwide to collect store-level, location-aware product data.
That’s how DataLocal.ai was founded.
Today, our Go-powered crawler, developed and refined over four years, fuels B2B projects across global markets. It has been tested in some of the most demanding international projects, proving its speed, precision, and scalability.
